Consumer Information

This site will have information for the consumer, such as details of connecting equipment, determining if a qualified service person is needed, selecting the right service organization, and what information should be at hand prior to contacting a service provider.

The following type of information would be helpful to have written down before calling a service organization.

Identify the product such as "I have a RCA Consol TV, model number CTV 1000 that is about four years old". (This holds true for washing machines, stereos, stoves, Camcorders, microwave ovens, etc.)
"It has normal sound but the screen is dark as if the set was turned off."
"The set worked fine yesterday, it had a good picture and sound."
